COVID Update for Employees
Effective January 9, 2024, CalOSHA changed when an employee can return to work based on an updated definition of "infectious period" by CDPH. The updated guidance removes the 5-day isolation recommendation for the general public, including in schools and child care. Employees can now return to school or work if they have no symptoms or if 24 hours have passed with no fever, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and their symptoms are mild and improving. Employees returning to work will continue to need to wear a mask indoors around other people for the 10 days after they become sick or tested positive. This information has been updated on the COVID-19 Response Team for Staff webpage.
